The peaceful village where the boastful boy Usopp lives is about to be raided by the Black Cat Pirates. The butler Klahadore is really Captain Kuro, a former pirate who faked his own death to hide. Coveting the inheritance of the frail young lady Kaya, he plotted to have his crew raid the whole village. While Zoro and Nami clash with the eccentric pirates, Luffy struggles against Kuro's blinding "Stealth Step" technique. Even so, he defeats Kuro with his rubber power and protects Kaya and the village. A grateful Kaya gives the crew a newly built ship, the Going Merry, and Usopp — dreaming of piracy — prepares to set sail as a comrade.
