Behind the bloody slayings lurk shadowy factions tied to the old anti-shogunate rebels, and the case takes a devastating turn when word arrives that Gintoki's old comrade Katsura has been cut down. As Gin digs deeper, he is dragged into the darker underbelly of the city.
