The Yotsuba killer is revealed to be executive Kyosuke Higuchi, who has become the notebook's owner. He kills rival company leaders by faking natural deaths, abusing the Death Note solely for promotion and self-preservation — a small-minded Kira. Misa, planted as bait, edges toward the core while L tightens the net with cameras and wiretaps. The memory-wiped Light genuinely hunts Kira, ironically closing in on himself. Higuchi shows how the same notebook becomes a wholly different story depending on whose hands it lands in.
