In Vol. 23 Yamada finally carries out his decision to seal the witches' powers, and the price is that everyone's witch-related memories start to vanish. His meeting with Urara Shiraishi and the incidents they overcame together are, for a time, lost. But the bonds Yamada built and the "clues" each of his friends left behind remain as a hope to pull the erased memories back. The grudge between the old student council and the originating witch is settled, and the school regains its ordinary days. The ending plants the seeds for Yamada and Shiraishi to find each other anew, leading into the grand finale of the last volume.
