Ranma ½ reaches Volume 32, and the story leans toward its endgame as long-simmering feelings start to surface. Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo edge a little closer even as Shampoo and Ukyo ramp up their pursuit and Ryoga nurses his hidden crush. Beneath the usual slapstick runs a quiet ache, but the martial-arts action stays strong, with hot-and-cold water gambits and fresh foes keeping the fights lively. Rumiko Takahashi delivers a coming-of-age brawl that makes you laugh and then catches you off guard with real warmth.

⚠️ Spoilers ahead.
Akane's feelings wobble this volume as Shampoo and Ukyo press their advantage and leave Ranma flustered. The highlight comes when a fresh crisis pushes Ranma to shield Akane in earnest, sealing the enemy's technique while still in female form. After the dust settles, Akane huffs "I never asked to be saved" with scarlet cheeks, and Ranma looks away muttering "Don't get the wrong idea." Ryoga once again fails to confess and slinks back as P-chan. Nobody manages a real step forward, yet the gap between the two clearly shrinks, closing the volume on a bittersweet note.
