Dragged along by Okita, Gintoki finds himself inside Rengokukan, an underground fighting arena where samurai are forced to duel to the death for the sake of illegal gambling. When someone asks him to bring the criminal syndicate behind it down, Gintoki is pulled straight into the tournament bracket. Around this darker arc, the usual Yorozuya chaos rolls on: a dangerous mushroom hunt, another round of Hasegawa's endless misfortune, and a shady cult leader. Hideaki Sorachi's Edo-era sci-fi comedy, Volume 6.

Gin Tama Vol. 6 spoilers
⚠️ Spoilers ahead.
The man ruling Rengokukan is a fallen samurai who once earned real fame before sinking into the pit. When his friends are in danger, Gintoki draws his blade in earnest and smashes the syndicate that treats human lives as betting chips. What decides the fight isn't skill but the question of who you swing your sword for — the very core of Gintoki's strength. Gags like the mushroom hunt and the cult uproar quietly seed later payoffs, while Hasegawa sinks even lower, which somehow only endears him more.
