Frieren heads north with Fern, and their journey toward Aureole, the resting place of souls, doubles as a pilgrimage along the very roads she once traveled with Himmel's party. In a village along the way they meet Stark, a timid young warrior and the apprentice of the fighter Eisen. Stark fled in fear of slaying a dragon, yet Frieren and Fern try to bring him into their group. As memories of the past overlap with new encounters, Frieren's journey grows livelier step by step.
