Case Closed Vol. 70 spoilers
⚠️ Spoilers ahead.
In the Ryoma treasure arc, the old document said to reveal the fortune's location is actually a cipher passed down over generations, and Kid and Conan race to decode it. The treasure is not gold or silver but an object symbolizing the ideals Ryoma left behind, and Kid, recognizing its true worth, withdraws. In the Demon Dog arc, the giant dog's shadow appearing night after night is an illusion the culprit created with a pet dog and staged lighting. The victim had clashed with the culprit over land rights, and a murder disguised as an accident was staged using the legend's terror. Conan sees through the trick via inconsistencies in the stride of the footprints and the timing of the howls.
